Ingredients

  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 0.5 pound Ground Italian sausage
  • 0.5 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 0.5 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup Sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Directions

Step 1

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain any excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Set up a workstation with the wonton wrappers, the sausage and cheese mixture, and the beaten egg.

Step 4

Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the sausage mixture into the center of the wrapper.

Step 5

Using your finger or a small brush, lightly dab the edges of the wonton wrapper with the beaten egg to act as glue.

Step 6

Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges firmly to seal. If desired, fold the two bottom corners of the triangle together and press tightly to hold the shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 7

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the wontons in batches, careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 8

Cook the wontons for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 9

Serve the wontons warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
