Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter (for brushing)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter over low heat until the butter has melted. Allow the mixture to cool to lukewarm.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, lukewarm milk mixture, and salt.

Add the eggs and 2 cups of flour into the mixing bowl. Stir until smooth.

Gradually add the remaining 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition until a soft dough forms.
