Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it into the prepared loaf pan or shape it directly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and yellow mustard to make the glaze.

Step 6

Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf. Reserve the other half for later.

Step 7

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven, spread the remaining glaze on top, and return it to the oven.

Step 9

Bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 10

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 11

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious, homemade Yummy Meatloaf!
