Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 60 milliliters Milk
  • 1 piece Large egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 500 milliliters Tomato sauce (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to soak up the liquid.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, ground pork, soaked breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix everything together gently with your hands until just combined. Be sure not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs dense.

Step 5

Using a tablespoon or a small scoop, portion out the mixture and roll it into even-sized balls, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. In batches, sear the meatballs on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 7

Once seared, return the meatballs to the baking sheet and transfer them to the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C or 165°F).

Step 8

If desired, warm the tomato sauce in a saucepan over medium heat and serve the meatballs with the sauce.

Step 9

Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan cheese and serve hot. Enjoy!
