Ingredients

  • 4 cups Romaine lettuce
  • 2 cups Cherry tomatoes
  • 1 large Cucumbers
  • 0.5 medium Red onion
  • 1.5 cups Frozen peas
  • 1.5 cups Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Cooked bacon
  • 1.5 cups Mayonnaise
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Start by preparing the veggies. Wash and pat dry the Romaine lettuce, then chop it into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the red onion and peel and dice the cucumber.

Step 2

In a clear glass bowl or trifle dish, arrange the first layer by spreading the chopped Romaine lettuce evenly at the bottom of the dish.

Step 3

Add the second layer by evenly scattering the diced cucumber over the lettuce.

Step 4

For the third layer, evenly spread the cherry tomatoes over the cucumbers. Slice the tomatoes in halves if they are large.

Step 5

Add the fourth layer by scattering the red onion slices evenly on top of the tomatoes.

Step 6

The fifth layer is the peas. If using frozen peas, run them under cold water to thaw completely and then pat them dry before adding them.

Step 7

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, granulated sugar, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl to make the creamy dressing. Stir until smooth, then spread this mixture gently over the peas to create the sixth layer.

Step 8

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the dressing as the seventh layer.

Step 9

Finally, top the salad with crumbled cooked bacon for a flavorful crunch.

Step 10

Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
