Ingredients

  • 300 g penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the unsalted butter and olive oil over medium heat until the butter has melted.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Lower the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to combine.

Step 5

Once the cream is warmed through, gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

Step 6

Mix in the red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, adjusting the seasoning to taste.

Step 7

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 8

Cook the pasta in the sauce for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 9

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your Yum Yum Pasta!
