Ingredients

  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 200 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 100 grams Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 30 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 50 grams Optional: Chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly with butter.

Step 2

Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in a large heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method). Stir until smooth, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 3

Whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted chocolate mixture until well incorporated.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition until the batter is glossy and smooth.

Step 5

Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.

Step 6

If using chopped walnuts or pecans, fold them into the batter at this stage.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake to ensure fudgy brownies.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into 9 squares.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy your Yum Brownies with a tall glass of milk or a scoop of your favorite ice cream!
