Ingredients

  • 500 g spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp red chili flakes
  • 100 g, grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp, chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 L water
  • 1 tbsp salt (for boiling pasta)

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with 4 liters of water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring it to a boil over high heat.

Step 2

Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

While the spaghetti is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
