Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Walnuts
  • 1 cup Almonds
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 8 Large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.25 cup Powdered sugar (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Line the bottoms with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a food processor, finely grind the walnuts and almonds until they resemble coarse flour. Be careful not to over-process or they'll become nut butter.

In a medium bowl, combine the ground nuts with the all-purpose flour. Mix well and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks and 1 cup of granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Stir in vanilla extract.
