  • 1 cup Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • 1 medium Bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Nutritional yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce or tamari
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Spinach, chopped

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the TVP and hot water. Stir well and let it sit for 5 minutes to rehydrate. Once hydrated, drain any excess water and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Stir in the rehydrated TVP, nutritional yeast, turmeric powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the TVP evenly in the spices and seasoning.
