  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard loaf pan with olive oil.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, soaked breadcrumb mixture, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing.

Step 4

Transfer half of the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and press it into an even layer.

Sprinkle an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture.

Step 6

Top the mozzarella layer with the remaining half of the meat mixture, pressing it gently to seal the edges.

Step 7

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) as measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 10

Garnish with additional chopped basil or parsley, if desired, and serve warm with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
