Ingredients

  • 500 grams tuna steaks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium, diced red bell pepper
  • 1 medium, diced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup, fresh or canned (drained) pineapple chunks
  • 1 medium, sliced onion
  • 3 cloves, minced garlic
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 stalks, chopped (optional for garnish) green onions

Directions

Step 1

Season the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Step 2

Lightly coat the tuna steaks with all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
