Ingredients

  • 185 g Canned tuna (in brine or spring water, drained)
  • 125 g Canned sweet corn (drained)
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Sliced bread
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter (softened, for spreading)

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, sweet corn, mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese to the tuna mixture.

Step 3

Butter one side of each slice of bread, spreading evenly to cover the entire surface.

Step 4

Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean workspace or plate.

Step 5

Spoon half of the tuna and corn mixture onto each slice of bread, spreading it out evenly but leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 6

Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up, to form two sandwiches.

Step 7

Heat up a jaffle maker or sandwich press according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you don't have one, a stovetop griddle or panini press can be used.

Step 8

Place the sandwiches in the jaffle maker and close the lid. Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crisp and the filling is heated through.

Step 9

Carefully remove the jaffles from the maker and let them cool slightly before cutting them in half or quarters. Serve immediately.
