Ingredients

  • 500 grams Vanilla sponge cake
  • 3 tablespoons Vanilla custard powder
  • 750 milliliters Milk
  • 3 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 packet Strawberry jelly powder
  • 500 milliliters Hot water
  • 200 grams Fresh strawberries
  • 2 Bananas
  • 300 milliliters Whipped cream
  • 50 grams Chopped nuts (optional)
  • 30 grams Chocolate shavings (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the jelly according to the instructions on the packet by dissolving the jelly powder in 500 milliliters of hot water. Stir well and let it cool slightly before refrigerating it in a shallow dish to set for 2-3 hours.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, mix 3 tablespoons of vanilla custard powder with 3 tablespoons of sugar and a little milk to form a smooth paste. Gradually add the rest of the 750 milliliters of milk while stirring to avoid lumps.

Heat the custard mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a pudding-like consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool completely at room temperature.
