Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons Instant coffee granules
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Hot water
  • 1.5 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Toffee bits
  • 0.5 cup Semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the instant coffee granules.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and egg until fully combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gradually stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth (it will be thin).
