Ingredients

  • 2 5-ounce cans Canned tuna (in water, drained)
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.25 cup Celery (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Sub rolls (6-inch)
  • 8 slices Cheddar cheese (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (softened)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 3

Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise, leaving one side slightly attached like a hinge.

Step 4

Evenly divide the tuna mixture among the four rolls, spreading it onto the bottom half of each roll.

Step 5

Place two slices of cheddar cheese on top of the tuna mixture in each roll.

Step 6

Close the rolls and gently press them together.

Step 7

Spread a thin, even layer of softened butter on the outside of each roll, ensuring full coverage on both the top and bottom.

Step 8

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the stuffed rolls onto the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Transfer the sandwiches to a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven. Bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Cut in half for easier handling, if desired.
