Ingredients

  • 4 slices Sourdough bread
  • 4 slices Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 8 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Slice the tomato into four even slices and set aside.

Step 2

Lightly drizzle olive oil on one side of each slice of sourdough bread, spreading it evenly with a brush or the back of a spoon. The oiled side will help the bread toast beautifully.

Step 3

On the non-oiled side of two slices of bread, layer the ingredients in the following order: one slice of mozzarella cheese, two basil leaves, two slices of tomato, and another slice of mozzarella cheese.

Step 4

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of balsamic glaze over each sandwich's toppings, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 5

Place the remaining slices of bread on top of the sandwiches, oiled side facing out.

Step 6

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwiches onto the skillet.

Step 7

Cook the sandwiches for about 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted. Lower the heat if the bread toasts too quickly before the cheese melts.

Step 8

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for 1 minute before slicing in half. Serve warm and enjoy!
