Ingredients

  • 500 grams Chicken breast
  • 120 grams Cornstarch
  • 60 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 Eggs
  • 120 milliliters Buttermilk
  • 500 milliliters Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 Green onions (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breast into small, bite-sized pieces (approximately 2 cm cubes) and set aside.

Step 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix them with the buttermilk.

Step 4

Dip each chicken piece into the buttermilk-egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned flour mixture. Place the coated pieces on a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes to adhere.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F). Use a thermometer to ensure accurate temperature.

Step 6

Fry the coated chicken pieces in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for 4-5 minutes per batch, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 75°C or 165°F). Remove and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Step 7

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot sauce and honey. Stir until heated through and well mixed, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Toss the fried chicken pieces in the spicy honey sauce to coat evenly.

Step 9

Serve the tiny spicy chicken immediately, garnished with chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy!
