Ingredients

  • 12 cups Popped popcorn
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 10 ounces Mini marshmallows
  • 0.25 cup Light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup Sprinkles (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

Step 3

Add the mini marshmallows, light corn syrup, granulated sugar, and salt to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the mixture is completely melted and smooth, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5

Quickly pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn in the large bowl. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to gently toss and coat the popcorn evenly.

Step 6

If using sprinkles, add them into the mixture and gently fold them in.

Step 7

Allow the mixture to cool for about 2-3 minutes, until it is cool enough to handle but still pliable.

Step 8

Coat your hands lightly with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Scoop out a handful of the coated popcorn and press it firmly into a ball, about the size of a baseball. Repeat with the remaining popcorn.

Step 9

Place the popcorn balls on a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper to set, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 10

Once firm, enjoy immediately or wrap each popcorn ball in plastic wrap for storage. They will stay fresh for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
