Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 buns Brioche burger buns
  • 2 tbsp Butter, unsalted
  • 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 8 slices Pickles, sliced
  • 1 large Tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 0.5 medium Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 strips Bacon strips, cooked until crispy

Directions

Step 1

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape each into patties about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Season both sides of each patty with the seasoning mix.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, lightly grease it with a touch of oil.

Step 4

Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes on one side without pressing down on them. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Step 5

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt. Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 6

While the patties rest, slice the brioche buns in half and spread the cut sides with butter. Toast the buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

Step 7

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of ketchup on the bottom half of each bun.

Step 8

Layer a romaine lettuce leaf on the bottom buns, followed by a slice of tomato, 2 slices of pickles, and a few slices of red onion.

Step 9

Place the cooked burger patty on top of the toppings. Add 2 strips of crispy bacon to each burger.

Step 10

Finish by placing the top half of the brioche bun on the burger. Serve immediately alongside fries or your favorite side.
