Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 red chili, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 4 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, grated ginger, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, chopped red chili, chopped green onions, cilantro, and lime zest.

Step 2

Add the panko breadcrumbs to the mixture and mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into small, flat patties about 2 inches in diameter. You should have approximately 12-14 patties.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook them in batches.

Step 6

Cook each side for 3-4 minutes or until the patties are golden brown and fully cooked through with no pink in the center.

Step 7

Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, lime wedges, or a side of jasmine rice.
