Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Taco seasoning
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Black beans
  • 0.5 cup Frozen corn kernels
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz Cream cheese
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced
  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.5 cup Salsa or dipping sauce

Directions

Step 1

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Step 2

Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the seasoning is well incorporated and the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, black beans, corn, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and sliced green onions. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 4

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper.

Step 5

Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water using your finger or a small brush. Fold the wrapper into a triangle and seal the edges by pressing tightly. Ensure there are no air pockets around the filling.

Step 6

Repeat the process with the remaining filling and wonton wrappers.

Step 7

Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan or skillet. Fry the wontons in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

Step 8

Remove the fried wontons using a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Step 9

Serve hot with salsa or your preferred dipping sauce on the side.
