Ingredients

  • 500 g Salmon fillet (skinless)
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 30 ml Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Ginger (grated)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 stalks Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
  • 6 pieces Skewers (soaked in water if wooden)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the salmon fillet into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and lemon juice to create the teriyaki marinade.

Step 3

Reserve 2 tablespoons of the marinade in a separate bowl for basting later.

Step 4

Place the salmon cubes in the remaining marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 5

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.

Step 6

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. If baking, preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

Step 7

Thread the marinated salmon cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece to ensure even cooking.

Step 8

Place the skewers on the grill or grill pan, or arrange on a baking sheet if using the oven.

Step 9

Cook the salmon skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, occasionally basting with the reserved marinade, until the salmon is opaque and cooked through.

Step 10

Remove the skewers from the heat and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Step 11

Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful Teriyaki Salmon Skewers!
