  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar

  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Sliced pineapple rings (grilled or fresh)
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Green onions (sliced for garnish, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, half the minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Press a small indent in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
