Ingredients

  • 12 oz fettuccini pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp tequila
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccini pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the cooked turkey to a plate and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and diced jalapeño. Sauté for 1-2 minutes over medium heat until fragrant.

Step 4

Carefully pour in the tequila, stirring to deglaze the skillet. Allow the tequila to reduce slightly, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 5

Add the heavy cream, chicken or vegetable broth, and lime juice to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Step 6

Return the cooked turkey to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Step 7

Reduce heat to low and stir in the freshly grated parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce becomes creamy.

Step 8

Add the cooked fettuccini to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

Step 9

Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving. Serve hot and enjoy your Tequila Turkey Fettuccini!
