Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups Water
  • 0.25 cups Rice vinegar

  • 10 sheets Nori sheets (dried seaweed)
  • 200 grams Sashimi-grade salmon or tuna
  • 1 large Cucumber
  • 1 Avocado

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and results in better-textured rice.

In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes to finish steaming.

In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat gently and stir until the sugar and salt dissolve. Let this mixture cool to room temperature.
