Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Step 2

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add honey, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, soy sauce, and water. Stir the mixture until it is well combined and smooth.

Step 4

Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, then add red chili flakes if desired for a touch of heat.

Step 5

Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over each chop. Cover the skillet and let the pork simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 6

Remove the skillet from heat and let the pork rest in the sauce for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 7

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley (if desired) and serve the tangy pork with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
