Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp Tandoori spice blend
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 0.5 Cucumber, sliced
  • 0.5 Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 Lettuce leaves

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, tandoori spice blend, cilantro, minced garlic, grated ginger, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix to avoid tough patties.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the patties into the skillet or on the grill.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the patties to retain their juiciness.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger toppings. Thinly slice the cucumber and red onion and wash the lettuce leaves.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly on the skillet, grill, or in a toaster oven for added flavor and texture.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers: Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty. Add cucumber slices and red onion on top for a refreshing crunch.

Step 8

Top with the remaining half of the bun and serve immediately. Pair with additional Greek yogurt sauce or a side of your choice for a complete meal.
