Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup, shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.25 cup, chopped green onion
  • 0.25 cup, sliced (optional) black olives
  • 0.5 cup (for serving) sour cream
  • 0.5 cup (for serving) salsa

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

Step 3

Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef. Stir well to combine, then cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the liquid is mostly absorbed. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 4

On a large baking sheet or pizza stone, arrange the crescent roll dough triangles in a circular pattern to form a sun shape. The wide ends of the triangles should overlap in the center, while the pointed ends should point outward like rays.

Step 5

Spoon the cooked taco meat onto the wide ends of the dough. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the meat.

Step 6

Carefully fold the pointed ends of the dough triangles over the meat and cheese, tucking them underneath the wide ends to form a ring. Some filling may show through, which is fine.

Step 7

Bake the taco ring in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.

Step 8

Garnish the taco ring with chopped green onion and sliced black olives, if using.

Step 9

Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side for dipping.
