Ingredients

  • 250 grams Paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  • 4 pieces Roomali roti
  • 1 medium Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 piece Green chili (slit)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 0 to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into thin, bite-sized strips and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the cumin seeds and allow them to splutter for about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chili and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook for 30 seconds.

Step 7

Add the chopped tomatoes and a pinch of salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the mixture becomes a thick, cohesive masala, about 6-7 minutes.

Add the paneer pieces and gently toss to coat them with the masala. Cook for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
