Ingredients

  • 120 grams Rolled oats
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 grams Brown sugar
  • 50 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 100 grams Chocolate chips (optional)
  • 50 grams Raisins (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3

In another large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using a hand or stand mixer.

Step 4

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the wet mixture, and beat until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

If desired, fold in the chocolate chips or raisins for added texture and flavor.

Step 7

Scoop tablespoons of the dough, roll them into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Gently press down on each ball to slightly flatten it.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The cookies will appear slightly soft in the center but will firm up as they cool.

Step 10

Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Step 11

Serve warm or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
