Ingredients

  • 3 sleeves Ritz crackers
  • 0.75 cups Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 3 medium Celery stalks
  • 3 whole Garlic cloves
  • 1.5 cups Chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.

Step 2

Crush the Ritz crackers into medium-sized crumbs and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Finely chop the onion, celery, and garlic cloves. Set them aside.

Step 4

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the chopped onion, celery, and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in the sage, thyme, salt, and pepper, and cook for another minute to release the flavors of the herbs.

Step 7

Pour the sautéed mixture over the Ritz cracker crumbs in the mixing bowl. Mix well to combine.

Step 8

Gradually add the broth, stirring constantly, until the mixture is moistened but not soggy. You may not need to use all the broth.

Step 9

Chop the fresh parsley and fold it into the mixture.

Step 10

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 11

Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 12

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden and slightly crisp.

Step 13

Remove from the oven and let the stuffing rest for 5 minutes before serving.
