Ingredients

  • 375 ml Riesling wine
  • 240 ml Water
  • 150 g Granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 2 sprigs Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves completely, forming a simple syrup. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.

Step 2

Once the simple syrup is cool, pour it into a mixing bowl and add the Riesling wine, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir until well combined.

Step 3

Transfer the mixture to a shallow, freezer-safe container and place it in the freezer.

Step 4

Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals that form. Repeat this process for about 4 hours, or until the sorbet has the desired smooth and scoopable consistency.

Step 5

Once frozen, scoop the Riesling sorbet into serving dishes and garnish with fresh mint sprigs, if desired.

Step 6

Serve immediately and enjoy your elegant and refreshing dessert!
