Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1.5 quarts Vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut butter

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Remove from heat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal with the melted butter and sugar mixture. Mix until the cereal is evenly coated.

Step 3

Press the Rice Krispies mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to form an even layer. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set.

Step 4

While the base is chilling, let 1.5 quarts of vanilla ice cream soften slightly at room temperature until it is spreadable.

Step 5

Spread the softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the chilled Rice Krispies layer. Cover and freeze for at least 1 hour, or until the ice cream is solid.

Step 6

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mixture is smooth and melted.

Step 7

Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the frozen ice cream layer. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.

Step 8

Return the dessert to the freezer and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate topping is firm.

Step 9

To serve, remove the dessert from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly. Cut into squares and serve immediately.
