Spread a thin, even layer of garlic butter onto one side of each slice of rye bread.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, into the skillet.

Step 5

Spread 1 tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing on the upward-facing side of each bread slice in the skillet.

Layer 4 slices of corned beef onto one side of each bread slice positioned in the skillet.

Step 7

Spoon 1/2 cup of sauerkraut evenly over the corned beef on each sandwich in the skillet.

Step 8

Top the sauerkraut with 2 slices of Swiss cheese per sandwich.

Step 9

Spread another tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing onto the non-buttered side of the remaining two slices of bread, and place them on top of the sandwiches, buttered side up.

Cook the sandwich for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Step 11

Carefully flip the sandwich and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
