Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 pieces black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 6 pieces fresh mint leaves

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes.

Step 3

While the tea is steeping, place 1 cup of fresh raspberries in a small bowl and mash them with a fork or potato masher until they form a puree.

Step 4

Remove the tea bags from the saucepan and stir in 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Mix well until the sugar dissolves completely.

Step 5

Add the mashed raspberry puree to the sweetened tea and stir gently to combine. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.

Step 6

Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove the raspberry seeds, discarding the solids.

Step 7

Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice for a bright, tangy flavor.

Step 8

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the raspberry tea over the ice.

Step 9

Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a few whole raspberries if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
