Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets
  • 225 grams Cream cheese, softened
  • 50 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 120 grams Raspberry preserves
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 15 grams Powdered sugar (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets to approximately 12 x 12 inches each.

Step 3

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each prepared puff pastry sheet, leaving a small 1-inch border along the edges.

Step 5

Spoon and gently spread half of the raspberry preserves over the cream cheese layer on each pastry sheet.

Step 6

Starting from one edge, carefully roll up each pastry sheet into a tight log. Use a sharp knife to trim the uneven ends if necessary.

Step 7

Slice each log into 8 even pieces, about 1.5 inches thick, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheets, cut side up.

Step 8

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash. Brush the tops and edges of each swirl lightly with the egg wash.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and allow the swirls to cool for 5-10 minutes on the baking sheets.

Step 11

If desired, dust the swirls lightly with powdered sugar before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
