Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cups Orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions, thinly sliced (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Lightly dust the chicken breasts with flour, shaking off any excess.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the orange juice, honey, and soy sauce. Pour this mixture into the skillet, stirring to loosen any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 6

In another small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir well to thicken the sauce.

Step 7

Add the orange zest and return the chicken breasts to the skillet, turning them to coat evenly in the sauce.

Step 8

Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 2-3 minutes until warmed through and fully coated.

Step 9

Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately with your choice of rice or vegetables.
