  • 120 grams Plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 0.5 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoons Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and add the chicken pieces. Allow it to marinate for 10 minutes if you have the time.

Step 2

Heat oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 10-15 seconds.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in the chopped tomato and cook for 2-3 minutes until it softens.

Step 5

Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat the chicken with the onion and tomato mixture.

Step 6

Cover and cook the chicken on medium heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.

Step 7

Adjust the seasoning with salt if needed and sprinkle the chopped cilantro on top as a garnish before serving.

Step 8

Serve hot with steamed rice, naan, or roti.
