Ingredients

  • 400 grams firm tofu
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper
  • 200 grams broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 150 grams snow peas
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks green onions (sliced)

Directions

Step 1

Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut into bite-sized cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Prepare the vegetables: slice the red and yellow bell peppers into thin strips, cut the broccoli into small florets, julienne the carrot, and trim the ends of the snow peas.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Set the sauce aside.

Step 4

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook for 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove tofu from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the broccoli and carrot to the skillet and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Then, add the bell peppers and snow peas, continuing to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 7

Return the crispy tofu to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables, stirring well to coat everything evenly. Let the sauce thicken slightly, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Step 9

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
