Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0 Nonstick cooking spray or butter (for greasing)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a 6-cup muffin tin or a popover pan in the oven to heat while prepping the batter.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy. Add the milk and melted butter, and whisk until combined.

Step 3

Gradually sift the flour and salt into the wet ingredients. Whisk the mixture together until smooth. The batter will be thin.

Step 4

Carefully remove the preheated pan from the oven, and lightly grease each cup with nonstick cooking spray or butter.

Step 5

Pour the batter into the prepared cups, filling each one about halfway full.

Step 6

Place the pan back into the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 450°F (230°C). Do not open the oven during this time.

Step 7

After 20 minutes, lower the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the popovers are golden brown and puffed.

Step 8

Remove the pan from the oven and immediately take the popovers out of the pan to prevent them from becoming soggy. Serve warm with butter, jam, or your favorite toppings.
