Ingredients

  • 175 grams Unsalted butter
  • 200 grams Dark chocolate (70% cocoa, chopped)
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 100 grams Light brown sugar
  • 3 Eggs (large)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 30 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted)
  • 100 grams Milk chocolate chips
  • 100 grams White chocolate chunks
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

Melt the butter and chopped dark chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and light brown sugar with the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is light, thick, and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).

Step 4

Gradually add the slightly cooled chocolate mixture to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring gently until fully combined.

Step 5

Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula until just combined (do not overmix).

Step 6

Gently fold in the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chunks until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it into an even layer with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is just slightly soft. A toothpick inserted into the middle should come out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 9

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Step 10

Once cooled, lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Slice into 12 squares and serve.
