Ingredients

  • 2 whole crabs Dungeness crab (cooked and cleaned)
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Step 2

Using kitchen shears or a sharp knife, cut the cooked and cleaned Dungeness crabs into halves or quarters, depending on your preference. Crack the claws slightly to allow the seasoning to penetrate.

Step 3

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add lemon juice, chopped parsley, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

Step 6

Place the crab pieces on the prepared baking sheet, shell side down, and evenly spoon the garlic butter mixture over the meat.

Step 7

Roast the crab in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, basting with the melted butter mixture once halfway through, until the crab is heated through and slightly golden on the edges.

Step 8

Remove the crab from the oven and transfer to a serving platter.

Step 9

Garnish with additional chopped parsley, if desired, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
