Ingredients

  • 2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 24 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 4 pieces Large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Orange zest, finely grated
  • 1 cup Fresh orange juice
  • 1 drop Orange gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)
  • 0 as needed Orange slices or zest (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form the crust. Set aside.

Step 3

Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar together on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and one egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 5

Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the heavy cream, orange zest, and fresh orange juice. Mix until combined. If a more vibrant orange color is desired, add one drop of orange gel food coloring and mix until the color is even.

Step 6

Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 7

Place the springform pan in a larger roasting pan and carefully fill the roasting pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the springform pan. This creates a water bath to prevent the cheesecake from cracking.

Step 8

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly when gently shaken.

Step 9

Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside the oven with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour to cool slowly.

Step 10

Remove the cheesecake from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature on a wire rack. Then refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, to set completely.

Step 11

Run a knife around the edges of the cheesecake before releasing the springform pan. Transfer the cheesecake to a serving plate.

Step 12

Optional: Garnish with whipped cream, orange slices, or additional orange zest before serving.

Step 13

Slice and enjoy your creamy Orange Dreamsicle Cheesecake!
