Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a loaf pan by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.

Step 2

Finely mince the yellow onion and set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and parsley.

Step 4

Using clean hands, mix the ingredients together until they are just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 5

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared loaf pan.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, an additional 2 tablespoons of ketchup, and mustard to create a glaze.

Step 7

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 8

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Serve warm, accompanied by your favorite side dishes such as mashed potatoes or sautéed vegetables.
