Ingredients

  • 2 large Red onions
  • 1 medium Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 3 pieces Dried red chilies
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 10 pieces Curry leaves

Directions

Step 1

Peel and slice the red onions thinly.

Step 2

Chop the tomato into small pieces.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium flame.

Step 4

Add dried red chilies to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes until they start to change color.

Add the sliced onions to the pan and sauté until they turn translucent, about 5-6 minutes.

Add the chopped tomato to the onions and cook until the tomatoes soften.

Stir in the tamarind pulp, salt, and sugar, combining well.

Allow the mixture to cook for another 3-4 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
