  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • 15 milliliters Water (for egg wash)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix the yeast and sugar with 100 milliliters of warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and the remaining warm water. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

While the dough rises, prepare the onions. Thinly slice the onions and cook them in a pan over medium heat with the olive oil and a pinch of salt.
