Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Chopped kalamata olives
  • 0.5 cup Chopped sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 unit Egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Water (for egg wash, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes, or until foamy.

Add the olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the mixing bowl. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

Step 3

Gradually add the remaining 1 cup of flour, a little at a time, and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
