Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 pieces chicken breast

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 14 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides. Add chicken to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice into thin strips.
