Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Bacon
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 15 ounce can Pork and beans
  • 15 ounce can Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 15 ounce can Butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 0.5 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet, crumble it, and set it aside. Reserve about 1-2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in the skillet.

Step 4

Add the diced onion to the skillet with the bacon drippings and sauté until translucent and softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled bacon, sautéed onion, pork and beans, kidney beans, and butter beans.

Step 6

In a separate small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, ketchup, barbecue sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

Step 7

Pour the sauce mixture over the bean mixture and stir until evenly coated.

Step 8

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Step 9

Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the mixture is bubbling and slightly caramelized on top.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Old Settler Baked Beans with your favorite main dishes!
